On Friday 22nd November Brisbane Catchments Network (BCN) held our AGM at the new meeting room at Archerfield Wetlands. It was a lovely gathering of the BCN family. As usual at an AGM all positions were declared vacant, and the election process was held.
I am so very pleased to let you know that all members of the existing Management Committee reapplied and were voted in. These include Lynn Whitfield as Vice President, Ray Ison as Treasurer, Keith Brown as Secretary and Dave Kent and Leo Lee as Committee Members and me as President.
Congratulations and thank you all so much for the work you do. BCN has had a great year. Special thanks to our BCN Secretary Keith Brown and Brisbane’s Big Butterfly Count leader Jutta Godwin. Keith has stepped in once again as secretary and we appreciate his return so much. Jutta continues to expand the reach of Brisbane’s Big Butterfly Count within the Brisbane community supporting the key message that if we want to see butterflies in our backyards and catchments it is necessary to plant their host plants. The workshops and surveys are an important way to learn about our local butterflies and what the public can do to support their sustainability.
