Brisbane Lord Mayors Catchment Round Table

In August 2023, members of Brisbane’s Catchment Groups attended the Lord Mayors Catchment Round Table. This was an insightful event with presentations from Brisbane City Council and Members of Bulimba Creek Catchement Coordinating Commitee, Oxley Creek Catchment Association and Cubberla Witton Catchments Network.


The day started with a Welcome by the Lord Mayor and following presentations:


– Koala reintroduction into Pooh Corner presented by Greg Johnstone, Program Officer Biodiversity Planning

– Trail Care – Mt Coot-ha presented by Lachlan Carkeet, Manager Parks and Natural Resources

– Stories from the Catchment Groups presented by Wayne Cameron, Lynn Whitfield and Don Begbie

– Brisbane’s Flood Journey From 2011 to 2022 and Beyond presented by Niloo Tara and Aoife Soden-Taylor, Senior Program Officers

– Olympics presented by Dy Currie, Executive General Manager Brisbane 2032 and City Plan
